Pavarotti and Andrea Bocelli Andrea Bocelli is the world’s most popular Italian operatic pop tenor. As well as performing on concert stages throughout the world, he is one of the only so-called crossover artists who also performs and records opera. Andrea has recorded six complete operas as well as numerous best-selling classical and pop albums. To date he has sold a staggering 60 million albums worldwide.

Over the years, Andrea Bocelli and Pavarotti developed a close friendship. It began when Luciano Pavarotti was sent, and was hugely impressed by, a demo tape of Zucchero’s track, Misserere. They went on to perform together in the Pavarotti & Friends annual Charity Gala.

At Maestro Pavarotti’s funeral in his hometown of Modena, Andrea Bocelli performed ‘Ave Verum’ during communion.
